What This Site is About….
…Joyful. Simple. Healing. Everything Earth offers ways to “go a little greener” that will both brighten your life and uplift the planet.
You don’t have to quit your job or go strict vegan. It doesn’t have to be difficult, expensive or punishing. As it turns out, simply doing simple things for the Earth makes for a healthier happier you.
Here you’ll find facts about the state of our planet – good and bad – as well as practical, simple, accessible and usually free ways to help heal the earth while pumping up the joy in your own life.
Every week, Everything Earth will feature an earth-issue and a related:
- small change or action you can take to respond;
- a special animal, plant, insect and/or bird;
- “Focus on Food”, a gardening tip, kitchen hack or recipe;
- “Eco-Cool Kids” projects for toddlers to teens; and/or…
- a gratitude.
What this site is not about…
… Being angry, marching on Washington, picketing, boycotting, judging yourself or others, or giving things up. OK, maybe giving some things up. But the things I’ll suggest you free yourself from can make you happier and probably save you time, money and aggravation. They also might keep your kids occupied maybe even outdoors… while you enjoy some quiet time. (See? Aren’t you feeling happier already?!)
About Me
Hi. I’m Lisa, alternately know as “Queen of Green”, “eco-warrior princess” @Queen1Green and occasionally by less flattering names according to the polluters, water abusers, clear cutters and other destructive earth forces I’ve met across the negotiation table over the decades. Human activity is causing dramatic change to our beautiful planet, and all of us are paying the price.
I created this site to share my love of the Earth with you and offer inspiration on how to make living an environmentally sustainable lifestyle fun and easy.
In my professional life, I have worked passionately to end animal cruelty, and protect our sacred rivers, forests and wildlife. I’ve been a spokesperson for the Earth in major media and served on many boards, including the National Board of Directors of the Sierra Club whose mission is to explore, enjoy and protect the Planet.
I am now condensing a lifetime of experience into a user-friendly bite-sized weekly blog post to show how easy, freeing and satisfying it is to live a lifestyle in harmony with nature!
Why Now?
This site is being launched officially on Mother’s Day 2021 in honor of the following remarkable energies:
- My husband, my rock, my defender who supported me when I left corporate America to go enthusiastically but entirely unprepared into the rogue wildlands of environmental work. He has “mothered” me through many a sticky situation.
- Dr. Jose Arguelles, artist, author, scholar and seer who birthed the Whole World Festival in 1969 in Davis, California which inspired Earth Day and is still celebrated in Davis every year on Mother’s Day. He later created the Foundation for the Law of Time which has thrived and grown in the hands of his life partner Stephanie South (whom he met on Mother’s Day).
- Stephanie South, herself a visionary, synchronic teacher and author, has drawn an international following with her books, conferences and her remarkable magnetic energy. Ms. South is responsible for the genesis of this site, having declared to me: “I’m going to inspire you until you get this done.” See “Books & People” for a link to her latest book, The Uninscribed, sold and renowned all over Planet Earth.
- My Italian mother and grandmother who taught me to love gardening, cooking and real food.
- And, of course, Mother Earth, who keeps giving and giving no matter what we do to her. So far.
